Flag Fen, an internationally important site of Bronze Age remains and artefacts, found here during excavations since 1971, invites you to some Half-Term fun.
We are a family-friendly site, where children learn about their ancestors and even meet some of the animals who might have been known to them. The Mere – a man-made lake, is home to many species of wildlife, as is the area surrounding it. Why not come and join us during the school break and see what we have to offer?
Half-Term Pumpkin Fun
If you are looking for pumpkin fun this half-term holiday then head to our site, just outside the city centre. Here you can pick and carve your pumpkin, make broomsticks, and even get some help from friendly witches and wizards! Once you arrive, step inside the enchanted wood where you will find lots of bright and beautifully orange pumpkins to choose from. Events are running on 21 – 23 Oct & 26 – 29 Oct
Other Halloween Themed Activities
Head over to the Witch’s Yurt and meet Flag Fen’s friends, Wenzel and Whizzy, always about to help you carve your pumpkin masterpiece– adults can join in too, plus there’s no mess at home!
That’s not all, with some hazel twig, twine and a little bit of Halloween magic children can create their very own broomstick to take home with them.
Entry to Flag Fen too!
With entry into Flag Fen included, why not make a day of it? Enjoy the family-friendly walking trail and den building space, experience the reconstructed Bronze Age & Iron Age roundhouses, and check out the Iron Age themed play area. Top it all off with a relaxing bite to eat, a hot cuppa or a treat in the café.
