The Fenland Roaster

Richard Jones has always loved cooking. While he was working as an engineer, he started to cook for family gatherings. The response from everyone was the same: you should do this for a living! He eventually took heed of this advice, stopped travelling the world building things, and started The Fenland Roaster.

Richard built his reputation on hog roasts and BBQs, and they are still a big part of our offering, as is outdoor catering in general. But we now do much more, with a wide range of menus available, including hot and cold buffets. We even have a traditional ice cream cart.

Location

We’re based near Peterborough, but we cater for events across Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Northamptonshire and Rutland. In fact, wherever is feasible for us to travel, depending on the scale of the event.

We’re happy catering for most types of events, although we specialise in:

• Wedding breakfasts, lunches and evening buffets
• Private parties
• Wakes
• Garden parties and village fêtes
• Corporate events
• Charity events
• Sports events, including large cycling events
• Auctions
• On-site catering

Ingredients

All our products are sourced locally, where possible. For example, for our hog roasts and BBQs we source quality meat from local butchers.

Special dietary requirements

Do you or your guests have special dietary needs? No problem. Give us the details, and we’ll be sure to oblige.

Extra services

As well as the food itself, we provide quality disposable cutlery, plates and napkins, or we can provide a full crockery service. For outdoor events, we can also supply covered cooking and serving areas. We can provide own tables and can also hire extra gazebos if needed.

To ensure a speedy service, we ensure we have sufficient staff to look after your guests at serving time. In addition, at the end of the event, we clear up and take away all disposables, rubbish and leftover food.

Generator hire

If your venue is unable to supply the electricity we require, we have a 7.5 KVA LPG generator available for hire.
